Opportunity to Build and Grow
We are searching for a dedicated Property and Casualty Field Territory Underwriter to join our Sales and Marketing team. In this critical role, you will evaluate, assess, and price risks to foster profitable growth across our partner agencies within your designated territory.
Salary: The starting annual salary for this position ranges from $108,000 to $182,400, complemented by a competitive compensation package that considers education, experience, location, and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive annual cash bonuses and stock incentives based on both company and individual performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Underwrite: Analyze risks, determine pricing, negotiate terms, and make informed decisions concerning commercial business.
Market Development: Actively sell and solicit business across all units within the territory to forge strong, diverse agency relationships.
Territory Management: Lead in the strategic plan development, execution, and growth of enterprise-wide profitability, including new agency appointments.
Agency Relations: Build deep, productive relationships within each assigned agency to cultivate a diverse and profitable portfolio.
Leadership: Collaborate with various field disciplines within designated agency relationships to bolster success through effective communication and teamwork.
Market Research: Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, emerging risks, and primary competitors to inform decision-making.
Qualifications:
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Autonomy: Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
Travel: Willingness to regularly travel to agencies within the territory.
Strategic Planning: Proficient in developing strategic business plans.
Leadership: A demonstrated passion for leadership.
Licensing: Must possess a valid driver's license.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree required.
Experience: At least 2 years of commercial underwriting experience, with over 3 years preferred.
Certifications: Insurance industry certifications such as Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) are advantageous.
