We are actively seeking an experienced Onsite Safety Manager with a robust background in Commercial and Industrial (C&I) solar projects. The selected candidate will play a vital role in ensuring all safety regulations and protocols are strictly followed, thereby maintaining a secure working environment for all employees, contractors, and site visitors. This position demands a candidate with exemplary leadership qualities, a keen eye for detail, and a proactive stance in managing safety measures. Responsibilities :
Stationed onsite full-time throughout the project duration. Uphold and rigorously enforce safety policies and procedures in line with OSHA Regulations, client-specific safety requirements, and site-specific safety plans. Perform routine safety inspections and audits to spot potential hazards and risks, utilizing PROCORE for all documentation needs. Engage with project managers, supervisors, and the workforce to foster a culture of safety awareness and compliance. Oversee safety training and orientations for all new and subcontracted employees, ensuring readiness and compliance. Diligently investigate all safety incidents to identify causes and formulate preventative strategies. Keep meticulous records of safety measures, incidents, training activities, and compliance efforts in PROCORE. Act as the primary liaison for regulatory body inspections and any related queries. Remain informed of any changes in safety protocols from clients and convey updates as necessary. Lead and manage emergency response activities, including drills and training sessions. Regularly review safety performance data to pinpoint trends for continuous improvement. Ensure all Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) are current and reviewed daily. Verify that all equipment undergoes pre-use inspections according to the checklist. Manage and oversee the permit application and approval process for various site activities. Document and ensure execution of weekly toolbox talks in PROCORE. Conduct weekly debriefing sessions to discuss project safety details and developments. Qualifications :
A board-certified Safety Professional credential or a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline is preferred. Mandatory OSHA 30 certification. At least 2-3 years of dedicated experience in construction safety management or safety management within the renewable energy sector. Recent experience (within the last 9 months) working on an active construction site. Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and hazard recognition methods. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of educating and motivating staff across all levels. Demonstrated leadership capability with a history of promoting safety initiatives and cultivating a strong safety culture. Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the proficiency to manage several tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
