SAFE-T Clinical Coordinator Location Hybrid remote in University Park, PA : AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Sexual Assault Forensic Examination Telehealth (SAFE-T) System is excited to announce a full-time leadership opportunity within our program for a Clinical Coordinator. SAFE-T System, housed within the Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing, is a grant-funded center that delivers live expert Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) telehealth consultation at partnered hospitals. SAFE-T System provides a comprehensive sexual assault forensic solution for hospitals, leading to increased patient access to expert SANE care locally.
The SAFE-T Center is seeking an experienced Sexual Assault Forensic or Nurse Examiner (SAFE or SANE) to fill this position. The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for managing day-to-day clinical operations related to accomplishing SAFE-T System clinical goals and deliverables. This role serves alongside, and as a key partner to, the Lead TeleSANE Coordinator and Lead Site Coordinator, ensuring a cohesive and robust clinical operations team. As part of that role, the candidate will also serve as a member of the SAFE-T teleSANE team, assisting with on-call coverage during their regular workday and weekend on-call coverage as part of a rotation. Additionally, the Clinical Coordinator will share responsibility with the TeleSANE Coordinator and the Site Coordinator in covering the occasional night and weekend shifts when there are gaps in the clinical on-call schedule.
The successful candidate will develop and implement practices that promote a culture of diversity, safety, and environmental consciousness and that is conducive to effective relationships among diverse groups of employees; use diplomacy and advanced communication skills in unstructured settings; modify, adapt, or refine guidelines, if necessary, to resolve issues or problems; develop, evaluate, enhance, and/or implement quality improvement practices, processes, procedures, or policies that have an impact on SAFE-T Center operations. We seek a candidate who is passionate about the provision of high-quality, compassionate sexual assault care as well as someone who wants to nurture and support others to develop these skills. This individual must have exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills.
Coordinator Primary Job Responsibilities: · Facilitates communication among clinical leadership, including setting agendas and goals, detailed project planning, and overall project management related to SAFE-T clinical objectives and goals.
· Helps track and balance workload among clinical leadership team to ensure that duties are met, and the team is functioning as a unit.
· Keeps leadership abreast of the clinical team status as well as status of special projects, delays, resource needs, and reports and appropriately escalating concerns.
· Provides administrative and project management support for building a pediatric teleSANE team.
· Establishes and nurtures relationships with clients and external stakeholders, serving as a program ambassador and liaison at meetings, presentations, and events.
· Supports SAFE-T efforts to recruit prospective hospitals and implement the SAFE-T program at new sites.
· Coordinates with team and external stakeholders for the flawless execution of projects.
· Resolves problems, completes audits, identifies trends, measures performance, and determines system improvements with the support of the leadership team.
· Responsible for grant progress reporting
· Contributes to presentations, event planning, grant application submission, and data collection.
· Supports the delivery of clinical training programs.
· Assists with recruitment, hiring, and onboarding new teleSANEs.
· As a TeleSANE, the ideal candidate will support lesser experienced, hospital-based, Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANEs) by providing peer mentorship and quality assurance when it matters most, during actual examinations. This will be done remotely, through a secure telehealth connection.

Candidate must be a licensed Registered Nurse, with 4+ years related experience and hold a bachelor's degree or higher. Candidates without a multi-state (Compact) license will be expected to obtain Pennsylvania licensure upon hire. Candidate must have expert-level clinical knowledge and experience in the field of Sexual Assault Forensic Examinations and maintain IAFN board-certification in forensic examinations of adults and adolescents (i.e., SANE-A certified). Pediatric sexual assault experience and/or IAFN SANE-P certification is beneficial, but not required. Additionally, the ideal candidate is an experienced leader. Experience collaborating with other stakeholders such as healthcare providers, hospital administrators, interdisciplinary partners, and/or emergency nurses is beneficial. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products required.
This position requires an exceptional individual who has excellent client-facing and internal communication skills, as well as verbal and written communication skills. Additionally, strong organizational with attention to detail, multitasking, and time management skills are key abilities of the ideal candidate. This position requires individuals who can work independently with limited supervision, provide leadership, enjoy being part of an ambitious team, and who want to be part of an innovative solution that makes a difference for those who have experienced sexual violence and the nurses who care for them.
This position is available as a remote or hybrid position and relocation to Pennsylvania is not required. However, this position does require travel as needed to Pennsylvania or other states, for accomplishing clinical goals, meeting with stakeholders, attending or presenting at conferences, and/or supporting events that require an in-person presence, requiring that you operate a motor vehicle to attend various site meetings. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to clearances.
