Responsibilities
• Receives report on patient/resident status• Makes physical rounds assessing quality of care• Supervises charge nurse/nurses and other care providers• Evaluates performance and coaches charge nurses• Assesses and monitors patient/resident needs• Responds and coordinates actions in emergency situations• Manages department/center in absence of Director of Nursing Services• Assists with root cause analysis and quality improvement initiatives• Ensures safe work practices and empathetic communication• Respects resident rights
Requirements
• Current license by the State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse• Experience in the long-term care industry preferred• At least three years nursing experience• Ability to plan, supervise and coordinate services• Preference for contacts with people, as in supervising and instructing nursing personnel
