**Description**


**Providence is calling a Registered Nurse (RN) (0.8 FTE, Evening Shift) to Assisted Living at Providence Mount St. Vincent in Seattle, Washington.**


The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional, comprehensive nursing care for residents and patients
* in a skilled nursing and transitional care environment. Accountable for the delivery of coordinated, safe, compassionate, therapeutic, evidence-based quality care to residents and families, based on individual physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and appropriate care strategies throughout the lifespan. Practices in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act in the state of employment, the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the ANA scope and standards of practice. Key functions and specific skills for the job are found in the onboarding checklist and in standards that are applicable to the specialty.

**In this position you will:**


+ Assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate residents care. Develop, updates and coordinate the residents plan of care to achieve resident goals and to optimize outcomes and transitions across the care continuum. Monitor, record and communicate resident condition as appropriate. Perform and maintain currency of essential competencies as required by specific area of hire and populations served

+ Effectively advocate for ethical and holistic care by partnering in care planning to promote the autonomy, dignity, rights, values and beliefs of those we serve

+ Foster a learning environment for resident/families, nursing, and other members of the healthcare team including students; facilitate formal and informal learning for resident/families, nursing, other members of the healthcare team, and community

+ Be accountable for safety, identify and correct problems, and integrate evidence, and best practice into nursing care; use data and evidence to improve resident outcomes. Align resident safety, self-safety and environmental safety as equally important for best outcomes

+ Engage in ongoing professional development; practices to the top of license within the legal parameters of the Nurse Practice Act, the Nursing Social Policy Statement, the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses, and specialty standards. Promote a culture of inquiry that explores, integrates and disseminates research and evidence based practice

+ Lead and coordinate teams, appropriately delegate, coordinate care and collaborate with others as equal members of the inter-professional care team to integrate nursing knowledge. Model professional behaviors as a representative of the nursing profession


**Required qualifications:**


+ Nursing degree

+ RN License in Washington State

+ BLS within 30 days of hire

+ Must obtain Food Handler's Permit within fourteen (14) days of hire

+ Proficient in English written and verbal communication skills

+ Effective interpersonal skills

+ Articulate and responsive to colleagues


**Preferred qualifications:**


+ Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN)

+ One (1) year of nursing experience in an environment that provides person-directed care

**About the Team**

Providence Home and Community Care (HCC) is a service line within Providence with over 8,000 caregivers and 2,000 volunteers serving nearly 200,000 people a year, in their homes, in clinics and in a variety of congregate living ministries across our seven-state footprint.


HCC provides a full range of services and support for people of all ages, especially those facing chronic or life-limiting illnesses. Our core competencies include restorative care, longitudinal care and care through the end of life. Our service lines include assisted living/skilled nursing/rehabilitation, home health, home infusion/pharmacy services, home medical equipment, hospice and palliative care, Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), personal home services/private duty care and supportive housing.
