July 2024 Position Summary:
The RISE Coordinator is a temporary grant funded position that works under thedirection of the Director ofAcademic Advising.The position coordinates with advising new and first year students, coordinating and advisingsupport to the RISEprogram.The incumbent is required to have collaborative and cooperative relationships with faculty, staff and students.Theincumbent is required to have excellent organizational and case management skills. The incumbent is expected torepresent the College in apositive manner and to collaborate with academic and student services departments tocontribute to retaining students. Example ofJob Duties:
Under the direction of the Director ofAcademic Advising, the Rise Coordinatoris responsible for advising, tracking, andprovidingsocial support needs to first year programming, and the RISE program througheffective performance in these essential duties: Outreach via telephone, text or other technology to prospective and new students. Provide professional and enthusiasticcustomer service to prospective students. Tracking and case management for the Hartford Promise Program, maintaining studentrecords in Insight. Lead RISE sessions (during registration periods only). Works closely with the Admissions Office andPlacement Testing. Be knowledgeable about the resources the college provides to students. Advise, support, and provideacademic programming to students in the RISE program. In addition to the accountabilities listed above, the incumbent is requiredto carry out the essential duties of: Attendance and participation at convocation and commencement ceremonies; Service on assignedcommittees and task forces; Attendance and participation at committee, staff, informational and professional meetings. These may involveattendance at evening or weekend events.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in anappropriately related field together with one to four years of related experience; or a combination of education, training and experiencewhich would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the position's essential duties. Highly effective studentservices background preferred. Possess an understanding of the admission and new student onboarding processes. Ability towork in a fast- paced environment. Active listening skills. Demonstrate organizational and administrative ability. Ability to multitask and provide innovative solutions to problems that prevent students from successfullyregistering and attendingcollege. A bachelor's degree in an appropriately related field together with one to four years of related experience; or acombination of education, training and experience which would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the position'sessential duties.
