The primary responsibilities of the Cashier position are to maintain
helpful customer service, process sales quickly, accurately, and efficiently,
and perform cash register operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Ensure each customer receives outstanding service which follows the S.A.L.E.S process and the mystery shop standards
• Greet customers as they enter the store
• Answer phone calls
• Tactfully and pleasantly deal with customers
• Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements
• Perform register sales transactions quickly and accurately following established cash control procedures and customer service guidelines
• Maintain the orderly appearance of the register area and stock supplies
• Perform other tasks as assigned by store management
• Solicit customers to open an Ace Rewards card
• Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers
• Report point-of-sale problems to the supervisor
• Perform cash pulls, change orders, and deposits following established policies
• Ensure that merchandise displays in the checkout area are clean, organized, and well-stocked
• Ensure returned merchandise is restocked to the correct product location on the sales floor all damaged and defective merchandise is properly labeled
Minimum Requirements The minimum requirements for this position include the following:
• Education/Training: High School diploma
• Experience in a retail environment either in cashier, sales, or back office
• A commitment to service, excellence, and customer satisfaction
• Skill/Knowledge: Ability to process information and/or merchandise through the register system
• Ability to communicate with associates and customers
• Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a strong willingness to learn
• Knowledge of retail computer systems and electronic cash registers
• Exceptional organizational ability, high attention to detail, and ability to multi-task
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business
Physical Requirements The minimum physical requirements for this position include:
• Frequently stock, load, and unload customer orders lifting to 40lbs
• Ability to stand for an extended period of time
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS The minimum training requirements for this position in the first 90
days include:·
Ace Learning Place beginning courses Epicor Training POS basics courses· Propane certification (if applicable)· Service Center training The minimum training requirements for this position in the first year include:
Ace Learning Place select advanced courses in POS· Epicor Training advanced POS courses· Rental Center training A minimum of 30 hours of continuing education directly related to this position is required annually.
