JOB REQUIREMENTS: 3 or more years of restaurant design experience. Will consider candidates with college degree in related studies in lieu of experience. Review and mark up design plans generated by others as they relate to layout, brand standards, trade dress and equipment selections. Generate plans, elevations, and details in AutoCad and PDF formats. Detailed understanding of plans, construction documents and engineering disciplines Detailed knowledge and experience of restaurant equipment and design. Ability to communicate with and manage multiple disciplines (architects, engineers, suppliers etc.) simultaneously. Willingness to work with multiple individuals and diverse franchisee clientele. Ability to learn and retain brand standards/trade dress for multiple brands. Must have excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams) JOB FUNCTIONS: PRE-CONSTRUCTION:
Organize and facilitate design/construction kick off calls for each project Manage Preliminary Design/Design Development (PD/DD) phase of projects. Review and mark up plans for correction by design architect. Review and mark up construction document package for correction by architect of record. Create proposed space "Test Fit" and other plans in AutoCad and PDF formats. Occasionally visit potential locations and perform as built site surveys. Provide support as needed to individual architects during the entire development process. PLAN & DESIGN:
Create and manage CAD equipment block library and prototypes for each brand. Create and manage process checklists and forms as needed for each project. Contribute to prototype plan/design manual creation and updates. Participate in Value Engineering (VE) exercises for multiple brands. Review and redline exterior signage shop drawings. CONSTRUCTION:
Organize and participate in regularly scheduled project design conference calls via Microsoft Teams and other group meeting platforms. Provide timely responses to all construction related RFI's and plan issues. Review shop drawings and submittals. Comment as needed. REFRESH, REMODEL, AND RELOCATION PROJECTS:
Generate and update RF/RM guides, specifications, and requirements. Review and redline remodel/reconfigured plans produced by architects while maintaining a variety of existing conditions, equipment, and requests. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
New product and material search Draft and implement new procedures. Transition newly acquired brands into the Kahala development system. Manage and assist with facilities projects and needs. Maintain and organize project files for all brands. Job Type: Full-time
