Assistant Manager in Training Job Duties and Expectations You're an up-and-coming restaurant expert! This position is meant to prepare someone with supervisory experience or some management experience for the next step: being a manager at Ian's Pizza. You'll rotate between 2-3 Madison restaurants to support the General Manager and Assistant Managers in the overall daily operations with the goal of promotion into a non-rotating manager position within 6-12 months. You will learn and participate in managing all store operations, including but not limited to product ordering, vendor relationships, implementation of systems or processes, and staffing schedules and reviews.
Assistant Manager in Training Requirements Experience as a supervisor or manager in the restaurant industry is required. Embrace and embody Ian's Standards for Customer Service, Food Quality, and the Big Five Code of Conduct (Dependability, Awareness, Connection, Generosity, and Effort). Interested in making a career move to Ian's Pizza and ready to learn and grow! Ability to stand and walk for long periods. To bend, crouch, and lift to 20-50 lbs. To use ovens, pizza cutters, and other equipment of the business. Cross-trained and regularly able to perform all entry-level positions (Front of House, Cook, Delivery) within 6 months of being placed in position. Must complete a food safety certification course within 4 months of being placed in position. English language proficiency is required for this position. Reliable transportation to and from the restaurant locations. Must be 18+ to apply. Assistant Manager in Training Schedule This position is salaried for 45 hours per week: 20-30 hours in operations/on-shift, about 5-10 hours on people development and training, and about 5-10 hours on administration and meetings. Your operational work and meeting schedules are posted at least 2-4 weeks in advance.
9-5 is a Dolly Parton song, not a job at Ian's Pizza. Many of our busiest shifts are on evenings and weekends, and we expect each manager to be available to work evenings and weekends. As a leader in the restaurant, you will work with the leadership team to be available for emergencies and help find coverage or cover shifts as needed.
