Job Title:       Resource Teacher Job Status:  Part-time Program Information: School assignments may be located in schools in the Detroit, Dearborn, and Melvindale Public School systems. The resource teacher must work during the school day at the 21st Century site they're serving in.
Hours and days vary by site:
School Year (12-14 hours per week) - Monday through Thursday, Tuesday through Friday, Monday through Friday; 2:00pm - 6:30pm
Summer (12-14 hours per week) - Monday through Thursday, Tuesday through Friday, Monday through Friday; 8:00am - 3:30pm
Program Summary:  ACCESS recognizes the challenge that many students face in reaching proficiency levels in core subject areas (English and math); that is why the Out of School Time program can provide students with the foundational skills needed to succeed in school, post-secondary, and in the workforce. This year-round STEM-focused program (32 weeks in the school year; 6 weeks in the summer) reinforces academic skills focusing on reading and math, encourages critical thinking, helps students discover/build new interests, and promotes healthy living. Low student-to-staff ratios ensure personalized learning, and youth development activities address students' social emotional learning needs. Students receive a daily hot nutritious meal. Parents/caregivers are offered free literacy and parenting education classes. 
Job Summary:  Under limited supervision, and receiving general guidance and direction from management, the 21st Century Program Resource Teacher uses skills obtained through experience and/or formal training to collaborate with Site Leaders to ensure school day and 21st Century Community Learning Centers program are in alignment.  This role functions as a liaison between the school day and after school programs.  
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  Identify students who meet program participation criteria with assistance of the principal and other school facultyProvide student names and proof of student meeting enrollment criteria for program recruitment; student Individual Learning Plan (ILP), or equivalent; student grades at the end of marking periodsProvide student Individualized Education Plan (IEP), Individual Learning Plan (ILP), or equivalent, for students who have an IEP, ILP, or equivalent to the Site LeaderDetermine, create and implement professional development for staff in collaboration with the Site Leader Participate in site's quality assessment and improvement processWork with the Site Leader and after school program staff (teachers, instructors, tutors) to create an after-school program designed to engage students in stimulating enrichment activities to build core academic skills, confidence, and life skillsMonitor, mentor and coach site staff in collaboration with the Site Leader to ensure the quality of program content and deliveryGather student data for the purpose of recruiting and grouping students and demonstrating program/student growth and areas of needed improvementCollaborate with the evaluator, principal, Site Leader and the Program Supervisor to analyze data collected and provide recommendationsWork with the Site Leader to design and lead professional development in academic best practicesAttend and participate in meetings during regular "check points" following the release of student data (testing, report cards, etc.) Meet with principal and program staff to discuss student achievement to make timely decisions regarding the program design, curricula/strategies used and staffingEffectively communicate program information to school day staffOperate standard office equipment and use required software applicationsPerform other duties and responsibilities as assignedKnowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of:

Must be an employee of School in which program is offeredAt least 2 years of experience in and educational settingAny equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training approved by Human ResourcesLicenses/Certifications: Licenses/Certifications Required at Date of Hire:Teaching Certificate PreferredBlood borne Pathogens trainingLicenses/Certifications Required within 60 days from Date of Hire:First Aid/CPR/AED Licenses/Certifications Required within one year from Date of Hire.16 clock hours of training throughout the yearWorking Conditions: Hours:  Hours may vary depending on assigned school, some additional hours may be required
Travel Required:  Local travel, up to 10%
