APD provides critical services and support for customers with developmental disabilities to reach their full potential. The Agency serves people with spina bifida, autism, Down syndrome, children ages 3-5 at high risk of developmental disabilities, cerebral palsy, Prader-Willi syndrome, Phelan-McDermid syndrome, and intellectual disabilities. There is no charge or co-payment for services provided through the Agency.

SALARY RANGE $42,598.40 - $46,858.24 base Annually $1,638.40 - $1,802.24 Base Biweekly
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This position serves as the home manager for residential homes at Tacachale and is responsible for directly supervising the duties and responsibilities of the shift supervisors, skill acquisition program managers and custodial workers to ensure compliance with required State, Federal, and Medicaid Standards.
Instructs subordinates in the areas of timekeeping, staff schedules, personnel issues, protocols and procedures, work performance and effective delivery of resident direct services. Develops reports as required. Interacts with staff daily to create and maintain a sense of teamwork. Holds routine staff meetings. Assists staff with residents' active treatment to include but not limited to bathing, dining, physical and nutritional management and general daily routine.
Coordinates and participates in special activities, community outings and events that take place during and after regular business hours. Participates in transportation of residents to and from off home programs and activities within the facility. Monitors staff's implementation of resident programs, service delivery and related data entry. Ensures staff stay current with information regarding the residents.
Serves as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) and attends various meetings, including annual Individual Support Plan meetings, quarterly IDT review meetings, and other meetings that are required. Consults with team members concerning the well-being of the residents that are served by off-home providers. Participates in and works as a team member with professional and paraprofessionals in resolving employee and resident related issues. Ensures staff are complying with active treatment plans as prescribed by the IDT. Provides follow-up training to direct care staff on the implementation of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and medical treatment plans. Monitors proper use of residents' prescribed adaptive equipment.
Performs recruiting activites to hire staff, including but not limited to handling hiring packets, interviewing prospective candidates, staff, obtaining work references and completing paperwork for the selected applicants. Provides facility orientation to new hires.
Completes personnel actions to include but not limited to the review and approval of timesheets, manual tracking and submission of shift differential work hours report and the development and presentation of disciplinary actions. Completes periodic performance reviews and completes annual performance evaluations. Provides feedback and coaching to promote quality performance and staff retention.
Manages home staffing ratios and schedules for three shifts, leave requests and overtime. Remains available to provide managerial supports for 24-hour operations of assigned home(s) to resolve staffing crises and other emergencies. Works as after-hours monitor in their unit's rotation schedule to provide on-site management during weekends and holidays. Takes necessary action, during and after regular business hours, to correct any problems or issues which occur on the three shifts.
Assists and monitors staff regarding follow through of safety practices related to residents and employees. Oversees shift change requirements to include maintaining accountability of the residents. Works closely with the treatment team leader on incident management to include investigations and corrective action plan implementation. Monitors all physical plant areas and initiates any corrective action necessary. Ensures the beautification of the home(s) promoting a home-like environment.
Provides training and oversight to direct care staff on infection control policies and procedures to include respiratory precautions and isolation protocols with a focus on sanitizing the environment and appropriate use of personal protective equipment.
Ensures compliance with all required trainings as prescribed by the agency, department and facility, including but not limited to Prevention and Safety Strategies, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, Direct Care In-Service, and mandatory curricula listed in the Learning Management System. Ensures compliance with staff's annual health screenings. Provides training to direct care staff on information technology and software use as it relates to the completion of mandatory on-line training and access to operating procedures, management directives and emergency operations.
Performs other related duties as required.
A valid Florida Driver's License. If hired with an out-of-state license a valid Florida State driver's license must be obtained within 30 days. Corrective Lenses Restricted license are acceptable provided the driver wears the corrective lenses while operating a state vehicle. Must be willing to perform essential services before, during, and after an emergency. Must be willing to work beyond the normal work schedule to maintain minimum coverage levels and meet the needs of the Agency. A minimum of two (2) years' experience supervising a team of staff. Maintain Advanced Prevention and Safety Strategies [PASS] Certification. This position may be required to perform essential services before, during, and after an emergency per APD OP 2-0035.
This position is critical to the safety and supervision of residents and may require the incumbent to work beyond their normal work schedule to maintain minimum coverage levels in the facility.
