Description
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Department of Anesthesiology, is seeking motivated Researcher II to perform bench research in biochemistry and chemistry on a NIH funded project. Our research is mainly focused on developing novel technologies for generation and delivery of inhaled nitric oxide gas to treat pulmonary hypertension and nitric oxide donor drugs to treat systemic hypertension in patients. This project has also involved translational clinical studies.
General Responsibilities Under minimal supervision: To set up and perform routine and established lab procedures in support of lab goals. To collect, enter and summarize data. To monitor results and report unusual outcomes. Key Duties & Responsibilities Performs experiments involving nitric oxide chemistry. Must obtain required knowledge in the use of sophisticated instruments. Tests the inhaled nitric oxide prototype device function. Conducts experiments with benchtop inhaled delivery system to develop interface systems. Generates data and analysis for device software development. Provides assistance with IRB approved clinical studies. Performs basic statistical data analysis. Performs other duties as assigned. Hourly Salary Range $15.50 - $23.51 Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field OR Associate's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience OR High School diploma or GED and four (4) years of related experience Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Preferences Degree in a science related field. Key Skills Knowledge of laboratory instrumentation and computer software skills.
