Research Technologist I Location Remote in East Lansing, MI : The MSU Clinical Psychophysiology Lab (CPL)in the Department of Psychology is seeking a full-time Research Assistant for the next year, with the possibility of a longer appointment. The Research Assistant will be involved in recruitment and scheduling of participants for research projects exploring the nature and treatment of anxiety using multiple methods including EEG, physiology, eye tracking, and exercise science approaches. The Research Assistant will have opportunities to assist and be involved in graduate student and faculty research projects. The Research Assistant will supervise and train undergraduate students. The Research Assistant will be responsible for: (1) recruiting participants by phone or email and constructing spreadsheets to monitor and track the progression of the projects ; (2) training and supervising undergraduate research assistants; (3) help with the creation and writing of protocols; (4) conducting behavioral and EEG experiments; and (5) administrative duties, including data management, ordering supplies, maintaining project website, problem-solving, and logistical and organizational support to project faculty and graduate students. Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in the specific field of research employment or other related field; up to six months of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in basic research techniques in the specific or related field; word processing, spreadsheet; database and/or desktop publishing software; presentation software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The job may require the appropriate pesticide applicator's registration/certification and/or experience working with potentially dangerous research animals.
Desired Qualifications Excellent interpersonal and laboratory management skills; strong verbal communication skills; ability to work independently to meet deadlines; excellent organizational skills, including the ability to multitask. Experience collecting data with EEG and recruiting participants is highly desirable.
