Minimum Qualifications: Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.
Position Summary: The Research Professional III would be expected to conceptualize, conduct background research/literature reviews, develop an outline, conduct primary/secondary research (e.g., interviews, data analysis, case studies, scans of academic literature), turn the research into a final product, edit the product, and develop multiple ways to communicate the work (e.g., written report, executive summaries, presentation, slides). This incumbent will also be heavily involved in developing visuals and commentary on economic, labor market, and education data. The Research Professional III will be charged with leading research projects such as white papers, case studies, and project reports. The role will involve day-to-day independence to manage ongoing research projects and tasks (e.g., tasks that are part of a larger faculty led sponsored contract or grant). They will coordinate with other faculty members, staff members, graduate research assistants, and others that may be contributors to the project to ensure deadlines are met and project completion.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies: Work to develop, coordinate, and support workforce development and economic development projects with an emphasis on research and project management. Closely work with faculty and project managers to support workforce development, economic development, and other applied research projects. Superb customer service skills. Able to work independently, flexible. Knowledgeable of various facets of workforce development and economic development. Skilled in conducting best practices research, comfortable with high levels of ambiguity, and capable of drafting project reports from many data sources. Highly competent in the Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Excel and Word, Adobe Creative applications, and experience developing and administering Qualtrics surveys. High-level of soft skills and comfortable in various situations as they will interact with elected officials, community leaders, business leaders, and other community stakeholders on a regular basis. Solid writing skills and the ability to conceptualize a report based on the client needs and project goals. Physical Demands: Sitting at a computer for long lengths of time. Occasional lifting of boxes and equipment (e.g. 25 pounds). Walking between rooms and/or standing for hours at a time. Driving as needed to perform job duties. Some in-state travel. Duties/Responsibilities: Manage ongoing applied research project tasks including coordinating schedules, planning meetings, preparing meeting materials, conducting research for projects, capturing notes, assisting in program development, and other project administration duties.

Duties/Responsibilities: Gather, analyze, and visualize labor market data, demographic data, education data, economic data, and other federal and state data sources. Prepare data packets and presentations of relevant data points.
