The Michigan Center for Translational Pathology (MCTP) is hiring a Research Lab Technician.Seeking an energetic, highly motivated individual to join our cancer biology and therapeutic group.Expected to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

Responsibilities
• Screen small molecule inhibitors for targeted therapy of cancer in vitro and in vivo.• Perform routine laboratory experimental procedures in one or more areas.• Work as part of a team of investigators.• Perform routine molecular biology techniques and maintain cell line bank.• Develop and maintain primary cell culture or organoid from patients and mouse models.• Conduct high-throughput screening of small molecules and functional assays.• Prepare histology samples and perform microscopy slide preparation.• Work with in vivo models, including handling mice, tumor models, and therapeutic drug preparation.• Perform animal necropsy and tissue/organ collection.• Maintain genetically modified mouse colony and genotyping.
Requirements
• High school diploma or Associate's degree and 1-2 years of experience.• Basic cell and molecular biology background.• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.• Excellent documentation and time management skills.• At least 1 year of wet-laboratory work experience.• Willingness to have schedule flexibility and occasionally work on weekends.• Ability to function independently as well as a team member.• Knowledge and understanding of laboratory safety.• Experience in mammalian cell culture, nucleic acid and protein isolation, PCR, and western blotting.• Basic mouse handling skills and animal surgery experience.• Strong writing, mathematics, and troubleshooting skills.• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, GraphPad Prism, and literature search portals.
