The Michigan Neuroscience Institute at the University of Michigan is recruiting candidates for the Research Investigator position, a faculty-level position in the research non-tenure track ().
The research and scholarship role is to conduct and manage research on sleep and circadian rhythms, leading to high-impact publications, new grant funding, and training of students and staff. Responsibilities will include primarily conducting research in the area of sleep and circadian rhythms in consultation and coordination with sponsoring faculty, will draft and prepare high-quality research proposals and progress reports, will play a lead role(PI, co-PI, or co-I) on multiple grant proposals per year leading to successful extramural funding. The successful candidate will also serve as a major preparer and drafter for research manuscripts, supervising research staff, overseeing overall lab operations, and managing specific research projects in support of overall laboratory goals. They will be instrumentally involved in the training of research lab students and staff in both technical and conceptual aspects. They will also play a central role in managing collaborative projects and grant proposals.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree. Expertise in the technical and conceptual aspects of Drosophila or mouse genetics, molecular biology/genomics, and sleep/circadian science is highly preferred.
