Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (or pursuing degree) in communication disorders, early childhood special education, child/developmental psychology, or a related field Spanish, Hmong, Somali, or other language proficiency (conversational fluency required, native level is preferred) Ability to collaborate effectively with people from a variety of communities, backgrounds, and identities Proficient with Excel and other Microsoft Suite programs (e.g., Word, PowerPoint) Proficient in Zoom or other video conferencing systems Detail-oriented Strong communication skills and ability to work as a member of a team
Preferred Qualifications

Research experience working with children and/or families Knowledge of Qualtrics, NVivo, REDCap, Trello, or other similar data and project management systems Knowledge of, or experience in, early intervention systems for infants and toddlers suspected or labeled as having delays/disabilities including coaching and routines-based intervention Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, experimental designs including qualitative research (survey design, focus groups), single-case research, and group design studies; as well as qualitative design and analysis Position Overview
Dr. Anne Larson, from the Center for Applied Research and Educational Improvement (CAREI), is seeking part-time temporary research assistants to support ongoing projects related to early childhood development, professional development, and family engagement. The work schedule is temporary and can also be casual in nature, meaning the employee is limited to 67 days of work in a calendar year and can only work 14 or fewer hours per week. Employees working in this position are paid an hourly rate. Temporary and casual employees are not eligible for retirement plans, health insurance, vacation, sick leave, or the Regents Scholarship.

The Research Assistant(s) will support and interact with Dr. Anne Larson, other University of Minnesota staff, project consultants, and students engaged in work within CAREI and partner units. Most meetings and team communication will be conducted remotely; however, in-person attendance for other primary responsibilities may be needed.

Job Responsibilities
Data Collection and Analysis (30%)

Data collection with families and young children with disabilities Data coding and data entry Translational of project materials, data, and results Communication (in multiple languages) with study participants, including families, early intervention providers, and other researchers and team members Collaborate on interpretation of data, applying lived experience and knowledge related to a particular focus community or communities
Dissemination (20%)

Support reports, manuscripts, and conference presentation application and preparation Opportunities may be available to co-author and present study results Project Management (50%)

Manage clerical responsibilities for research projects General project management assistance (e.g. goal tracking, regulatory compliance, etc.) Ordering and tracking supplies and equipment Support annual report preparation Department Overview
