As a Research Engineer, you will assume responsibility for planning and implementing a variety of complex assignments. You will analyze, investigate, and plan specific engineering criteria, characteristics and features to meet assignment goals.

Responsibilities: Performs routine engineering investigations in support of current research or product development efforts using engineering software analysis tools. Prepares design sketches or drawings for components, sub-assemblies, processes or equipment using CAD or 3-D solid modeling software. Assists with the design, development, and evaluation of prototype medical devices, equipment, and software. Assists with preparation and evaluation of test protocols and test specimens. Prepares charts, graphs and documentation in support of articles for publication, project reports and grant applications. Other duties as assigned. Education: Bachelor's of Science degree in biomedical/mechanical/ electrical engineering or related field required. Certifications: None required. Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Work Experience: Previous experience and co-op or internship preferred. Physical Requirements: Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information Ability to distinguish color Manual dexterity to handle specimens and repair equipment Ability to lift and transport equipment or specimens weighing up to 20 pounds May be exposed to hazardous chemicals, bio-hazards, radioactive materials, etc. Personal Protective Equipment: Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Pay Range Minimum hourly: $27.65
Maximum hourly: $42.17
