Research Computing System Administrator

Position Summary/Description: This position will serve as a System Administrator on computer servers and workstations in the Department of Computer Science to support its research mission. This will require providing direct support to users of various Linux distributions. Examples are: Debian, Ubuntu, and Rocky Linux. This position will perform specialized work involving complex computing systems, many of which have high information security and uptime requirements. This also includes generating and maintaining documentation regarding those systems, researching and purchasing of specialized hardware and software, and managing and installing operating systems and software on both real hardware and virtual machines.
Education and Experience: Experience in higher education and a research-intensive environment are a plus. Understanding of a version control system is preferred. Will need to be comfortable installing, configuring, and supporting graphics processing unit computing tools.
