Description
The incumbent will serve to facilitate basic science research within the Department of Neurology. They will assist the PI with research experiments and activities help keep lab space orderly and supplies stocked.
Their duties will include:
* Designing and conducting research projects,
* Keeping a detailed record of research results,
* Analyzing research data,
* Preparing manuscripts for publication,
* Assisting in ordering supplies,
* Maintaining the laboratory, and
* Participating in laboratory meetings and other training activities.
The work hours are generally Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Additional hours may be required (exact hours should be modified as appropriate). Lunch/breaks are dictated by workflow.
Regular attendance is required to perform the functions of this position. The incumbent will maintain a customer-oriented awareness in acknowledging and responding to needs as they occur that customer satisfaction is met at all times.
Qualifications
The applicant must meet the following:
* Bachelor's Degree in a science-related field
Preferred Qualifications
* Work Experience: At least one year of experience working in a laboratory.
* Research Experience: Animal behavioral trials, brain histology, PCR, genotyping, Statistical data analysis, poster preparation, Manuscript preparation
