Job Description: We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate in computational defect dynamics to join Prof. Ill Ryu's research group (Computational Materials Design Lab) at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at Dallas. This fixed-term post is funded by Shell for 6 months or until 31st December 2024. You will run computer simulations to predict the mechanical behaviors of nanostructural metals, especially small-scaling strengthening at mesoscale, which could arguably enhance mechanical performance for the deployment of an advanced manufacturing and technologies such as transport, defence, marine and construction sectors.
Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D in a related field.
Preferred Education and Experience: PhD in engineering, mathematics, physics, materials science, or other closely-related disciplines. Also, you should have experience in at least one of the following: Finite element analysis, ABAQUS or MATLAB ,Fracture Mechanics,Multi-physics modelling.
