Research Associate I
The Contracting Officer (CO) is a Research Associate with 2+ years' experience in Government Contracting. The Contracting Officer will have knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and its supplements, including the Department of Defense DFARS, be able to work independently and make sound business decisions for the institution.

Additionally, the CO will be responsible for a wide range of pre-award and post award contracting support to include interfacing with Project Directors, Legal Staff, Research Integrity Assurance Team, Project Directors and Senior GA Tech Management.

Support research proposal preparation and submittal.

Inform faculty and staff on proposal submission process, regulatory compliance requirements and Institute policy and ensure compliance prior to submittal.

Participate and assist with pricing development to ensure cost proposal meets solicitation requirements.

Prepare representations and certifications required by solicitations.

Lead Project Director and technical teams in negotiations, contract management, and provide information to Project Director on subcontracting procedure.

Manage contract from proposal stage to project close-out, including timely submittal of required contractual notices reports (e.g., limitation of funds, intellectual property reports, and government property reporting, as applicable).

Coordinate with Project Directors during post-award to ensure contract requirements are fulfilled and contractual issues are handled in a timely manner.

Maintain current knowledge of relevant contractual procedures and practices.

Remain current on government contract laws and regulations.

Review, negotiate and execute Other Transactions, Cooperative Research and Development Agreements, Associate Contractor Agreements, and other agreements.
