The research staff will be at Research Assistant Level 2 (Bachelor's degree prepared) with experience in a healthcare setting or behavioral science. The RA2 participates in the analysis of motivational interviewing sessions conducted as part of a research study. They analyze what older adults are describing about their behavior change for fall prevention and skills that MI specialists use to facilitate the conversation. The RA2 must be an effective oral and written communicator with the research team and research participants. This person must be proficient with Excel, online research databases, and web-based video conferencing. The ideal candidate is patient and passionate about supporting older adults as they experience changes in their physical and mental functions to reduce their risks of falling.
Data preparation for analysis including transcription support and data organization. Quantitative and qualitative analysis; using NVIVO qualitative software to interpret quantitative data outputs. Education Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, OR Associate's degree, AND Three (3) years of relevant experience, OR Four (4) years of relevant experience, OR An equivalent combination of training and experience. Experience Experience working in healthcare or behavior science. Job-Related Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Competencies) Proficiency in using Excel and Web-conferencing platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Webex. Proficiency in using online research databases. Demonstrated effective communication and organization skills and attention to detail. Ability to be a reliable, self-directed employee. Education Master's degree Experience Experience with human subjects research. Experience with motivational interviewing. Job-Related Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Competencies) Understanding of qualitative and quantitative analysis. Demonstrated transcription skills. This position is eligible for hybrid remote work, up to one (1) day a week. Hybrid remote positions are defined as those that include work that can be performed remotely and essential functions that must be performed at an OHSU Work Site. These functions include but are not limited to backup coverage for other team members, on-site meetings, events, and training; and any time the supervisor or the Dean of the School of Nursing requests an on-site presence. This position's eligibility for hybrid remote work is subject to change at any time based on the needs of the School.

This position is scheduled on weekdays between the hours of 8 am – 5 pm. The primary work setting is in a lab on the Marquam Hill campus. This position involves interaction with human subjects in a research study.
Physical Demands & Equipment Usage Ability to use a computer for extended periods (up to 10 hours per week).
