Job Description:
The Client Assessment, Referral, and Evaluation (CARE) Program implements the federal Pre-Admission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR) program which reviews the Level II evaluations for people with Intellectual Disability/Developmental Disabilities (ID/DD). This position is responsible for reviewing the Level II evaluations for ID/DD and develop best practices for recommending ID/DD specialized services to people seeking long-term care with ID/DD and has a need for nursing facility care. This position will work with the NFMH ID/DD Specialist and the Home and Community Based Services division of the Long-Term Services and Supports Commission to develop ID/DD specialized services. Technical assistance for Level I assessors and Level II evaluators to help them identify people who could benefit from ID/DD specialized services.
Specific Duties:
Participate in the collaboration with the Home and Community Based Services division of Client Long Term Services and Supports Commission to develop ID/DD specialized services for people with ID/DD.
Technical assistance and assist with the development of the best practice guide for ID/DD specialized services, in collaboration with the Home and Community Based Services division of Client Long Term Services and Supports Commission, for Level I assessors and Level II evaluators for people with ID/DD seeking long-term care.
Respond timely to requests for technical assistance from Level I assessors or Level II evaluators regarding individual cases and refer to appropriate Client staff, other State Departments, and/or community-based services.
Use the tracking strategy for documenting the services provided.
Skills required:
Intermediate to advanced computer skills required (especially Excel).
Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Excellent organizational skills.
Experience required:
Familiarity with federal, state, and local government structures as well as private sector resources is a plus.
Familiarity or experience working with individuals in crisis, mental illness, intellectual disabilities/developmental disabilities, substance use disorder, etc. is a plus.
Previous experience working in a team environment.
Minimum of two years' experience in nursing facility, nursing facility for mental health, or related work required.
Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and the flexibility to creatively adapt to ever-changing circumstances and events is essential to success in this position.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Education required:
Bachelor's degree in a nursing or related field.
Licensed Registered Nurse in State of Kansas with psychiatric experience/training
Knowledge of data tracking.
Physical requirements (lifting, repetitive motion, etc):
Normal office environment.
