Full job description J oin our Head Start team! The Regional Team Resource Specialist (RTRS) provides leadership support, coaching, guidance, and supervision of assigned staff teams in the planning and implementation of all program service areas, including Child Development and Health Services, Family and Community partnerships, and Staff Development.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Associates Degree in an education related field, such as Early Childhood Education, Social Services, Health and Nutrition. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Two years of experience in a Head Start program. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Driver qualifications are required for this position. Valid driver license, insured vehicle available for use on the job, and a satisfactory drive record for the previous three years are required. Successful registration with the Central Background Registry of the Child Care Division. CPR/First Aid Certification or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire. Food Handlers Card or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire. Candidate must pass pre-employment physical examination. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Intermediate proficiencies in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, database software, online tools, and video conferencing platforms. Effective interpersonal communication skills, in both oral and written form. Ability to present information to groups of all sizes, both in-person and virtually. Demonstrates tact, diplomacy and empathy when communicating with parents, staff and community partners. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Employee will also perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.
Orientates and trains new site employees. Monitors classroom sites on a regular basis to ensure supervision duties are being performed. Supports site staff to ensure that all classrooms are staffed according to regulations, including working on the classroom as a substitute teacher, giving breaks and teaching morning and/or afternoon classrooms, when regular teachers are absent. Conducts Reflective Supervision meetings with all direct employees. Writes evaluation reports for each direct employee according to program deadlines. Uses ChildPlus and Teaching Strategies Gold for collection, tracking, and reporting of child and family data and child file reviews. Facilitates all aspects of licensing of new locations or renewal to ensure all assigned sites are licensed/relicensed. Participates in regular RTRS Meeting to provide alignment across all Agency Head Start and Early Head Start sites. Represents Region in regular Leadership Team meetings. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervises approximately 10-15 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities for this position include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, as well as planning, assigning, and directing their work and appraising their performance. The Regional TRS is also responsible for rewarding and disciplining employees when applicable and addressing their complaints.

Frequently required to reach with hands and arms; occasionally required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Regularly lift and/or move 10 pounds. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Occasional Driving between Agency Head Start and Early Head Start sites. Requires moderate planning and problem-solving while managing regular deadline pressures. Ability to remain calm and quickly evacuate children from the classroom in an emergency. WORK ENVIRONMENT Mostly indoor work environment with frequent interruptions and demands. Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. Frequent interactions with vulnerable populations, including children. Evening and weekend work when necessary. Occasional remote work from home as approved by supervisor. ** Enrollment in the Central Background Registry is beneficial if you are even considering working with children in the State of Oregon, since it will be required before you can start a position.
