Job DescriptionSummary: Responsible for brand management and effectively positioning the Southeast Texas region in the minds of the target audiences. Successfully develops and implements marketing and communication strategic plan that achieves and supports the organization's goals and priorities.

Plans, organizes and directs marketing strategy and marketing communication activities for the region. Evaluates competitive hospitals and healthcare services for the region. Conducts research to identify the effectiveness of hospital marketing techniques and media. Works with clinical leaders to develop strategic and tactical marketing plans to support key clinical areas/service lines with an eye towards cost efficiencies across the region. Conducts market research, develops plan and directs the overall marketing/communications activities for the region, including positioning the CHRISTUS facilities in the community, strengthening image, and generating patient awareness and demand regarding services.

Develops and implements Medical Staff marketing, communications, and relationship strategies to generate practitioner loyalty and demand for hospital services. This position is accountability driven to organizational strategic initiatives and assigned services line objectives using measurement and tracking system to validate results. Advises Regional Executive Director of marketing/competitor intelligence.

Develops the paid and organic web strategy. Supervises all media-related activities. Develops regional staff's professionalism and scope of expertise. Serves on various growth, alignment and value teams for the region. Develops the Marketing Communications Plan. Prepares a monthly Regional Marketing Dashboard Progress Report and Action Plan. Recruits and oversees outside vendors including advertising agencies, design firms and publishers as well as other key vendors useful to marketing strategy and marketing communications. Assists with the development of the annual strategic plan.
Responsibilities: Organizes and directs the marketing, communications, strategy, advertising and public relations functions of the region/hospital.
Annually prepares and implements a regional strategic marketing and communications plan in conjunction with the Regional Executive Director.
Plans, develops and implements profitable growth strategies, marketing goals and tactics, and campaigns for key audiences. Identifies appropriate methods, tools, budgets, programs and promotional campaigns to achieve plan goals. Assumes ownership and accountability for volume growth and achievement of specific regional/hospital inpatient and outpatient objectives.
Develops intimate knowledge of market dynamics, including market share and demographics, competitive environment, changing technology, and employer community.
Utilizes quantitative and qualitative market information to stay abreast and guide analysis of competitive and healthcare trends in the region.
Develops regional/hospital and program advertising strategy and places all advertising in appropriate venues.
Contracts directly with advertising agencies, local media and other venues.

Plans, develops and distributes printed marketing collateral for the region/hospital and its programs that support the marketing plan.
Authorizes purchase of promotional items and oversees promotional events. Monitors effectiveness of all advertising, promotions, and publicity efforts.
Acts as hospital spokesperson as appropriate.
Oversees proactive public relations and responsive media strategy for region to generate positive publicity and image for all facilities.
Manages crisis communications and responsible for media control center during hospital emergencies/disasters.
Responsible for maintaining integrity of hospital/regional image. Ensures logo is used properly and that consistent style, color, image and message are maintained in all communications, advertising and promotional materials. Advises leadership and management on maintaining consistency of image in hospital operations and facility appearance.
Develops paid and organic web strategy and maintains Internet and Intranet websites for the hospital/region and its programs. Reports user activity to Executive Director on a regular basis.
Manage CRM (Customer Relationship Marketing) program. Provides leadership, management of customer database, key message development, market segmentation studies and recommendations. ROI tracking and other target marketing support services for the region.

Develops regional staff's professionalism and scope of expertise.
Performs and reviews performance evaluations and takes disciplinary action as necessary.
Serves on various growth, alignment and value teams for the region.
Develops the Marketing Communications Plan.
Prepares a monthly Regional Marketing Dashboard Progress Report and Action Plan.
Recruits and oversees outside vendors including advertising agencies, design firms and publishers as well as other key vendors useful to marketing strategy and marketing communications.
Develops regional department goals and objectives and establishes and implements policies and procedures. Develops regional departmental budget for marketing, strategy and communications.
Interviews, hires and discharges, as needed, the staff reporting to the Regional Director.
Attends relevant seminars and corporate meetings, as requested, and completes continuing education courses as appropriate.
Participates in various professional and civic committees and associations external to the hospital/region to ensure integration with the location community.
Actively demonstrates commitment to providing excellent customer service.
Functions as an effective team member within the department and organization.
Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements: Minimum of five years' experience in sales, operations or marketing for a service industry company required.
Sales and marketing experience in healthcare-related field optional, but of value.
Experience in business development concepts and practices, strategic planning and organizational management.
