General Statement of Job This position has the option to reside in Joplin or in the Springfield area. The Regional Admissions Counselor for Springfield, MO territory plans, initiates, executes and evaluates programs for recruitment and admission of students. This position provides guidance and approval for students seeking admission into the University.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities Essential Duties: Travels by automobile to high schools and community colleges to meet with prospective students, parents and/or counselors. (A minimum of 150 visits/fairs per semester is expected)
Represents Missouri Southern State University (MSSU) at college day and night fairs.
Responsible for managing the university's undergraduate student recruitment efforts in an assigned territory and other areas as designated, by using CRM and other university software
Assists with the process of readmitting former MSSU students.
Helps organize, set-up and participate in receptions and special events designed to attract new students.
Makes contact by telephone, e-mail and in person with potential students each week throughout the recruitment cycle. (A minimum of 100 contacts per week is expected)
Collaborates with other campus departments and offices with recruiting activities.
Provides a travel schedule, reports and tracking of recruiting activities to supervisor
Assists with the evaluation of transcripts.
Assists students with academic, financial aid and enrollment questions.
Advises students concerning degree requirements.
Assists the Admissions Office with daily duties related to recruitment and admission of all categories of students.
Assists with the budget process.
Serves on university committees as designated.
Performs other related duties as required.
Education, Experience, and Licenses Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university required.
Ability to travel extensively is required
One-year related experience in higher education preferred.
Must have valid Driver's License and ability to meet insurance requirements for driving University vehicles.
