JOB SUMMARY Assists in the development, implementation, coordination, evaluation, and supervision of recreation program areas and facility operations. Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, aquatics, enrichment programs and services, facility operations and rentals, health and wellness, mobile recreation unit, outdoor recreation, special events, sports, and customer and business services. Works independently under general supervision and within established guidelines and procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in recreation, physical education, or related field; or any such combination of education, experience, and training as may be acceptable to the hiring authority.
A minimum of two (2) years' experience in the field is preferred.
Preferred Certifications: CPR, AED, First Aid, Lifeguard Training, Lifeguard Training Instructor, and Water Safety Instructor.
Must be willing and will be required to work a varied schedule including weekends and evening hours on a regular basis depending upon the season and activity.
Must possess or be able to obtain prior to hire a valid driver's license.

The City participates in the South Dakota Retirement System. Employees receive a 6% match. Additionally, employees may choose to enroll in a Deferred Compensation Plan.
