Records Technician I Location Largo, FL : The Records Technician I position performs responsible and moderately difficult, routine work pertaining to records requests. This position requires accurate typing, entering and maintaining information into databases, updating files, researching information, managing records, providing information to callers and/or walk-in citizens, and maintaining knowledge of the agency's policies and procedures. Testing required The Records Technician I position in the Records Division requires strong customer service and excellent communication skills to be able to communicate with citizens in person, via email and over the phone
Requires the ability to multitask (phones, citizens at customer window, emails, USPS mail) Good working knowledge of F.S.S. 119 Public Record Laws a plus Ability to problem solve and apply statutes to redact confidential and exempt information from records according to Public Records Law Build files to properly and accurately log and document incoming public record requests Provided correspondence with requestor Record requests handled include incident and offense reports, booking photos, arrest affidavits, local record checks, crash reports, calls for service, etc. Qualifications: High School graduation or equivalent diploma from an institution accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (DOE) or licensed as a degree granting institution by the Commission for Independent Education One (1) year experience in a clerical office environment preferred Data Entry accuracy score of 75% Typing speed of 25 wpm Must possess a valid Florida driver's license Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
