Position Summary:The Showroom Receptionist/Greeter is a front-line representative for the dealership. This position greets customers daily as they enter the showroom. Answers basic questions and directs them to the appropriate person or department in accordance with dealership polices. This position also acts as the switchboard operator for the company's phone lines and routes incoming calls and provides basic information to callers. As this position is the dealership front line contact with the public the individual must be dependable and represent the dealership in a professional, friendly manner at-all-times.This is an hourly full-time position, and the pay is $15.00 per hour. The scheduled hours are Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.Essential Functions:Communicate with callers in a professional, friendly, and efficient manner.Will perform entire shift at the desk in the showroom, answer phones and take thorough messages.Strive to minimize the amount of time a customer is on hold.Greet showroom customers and determine the nature of their visit.Direct customers to the correct department, escort them if necessaryAnswer basic inquiries and refer more extensive inquiries to appropriate person.Provide basic information to customers with general inquiries.Determine the customers' needs by asking questions and listening.Process DMV paperwork from deals, issue DMV checks into databaseTrack security interest holder time requirements.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information. Must speak clearly on the telephone and convey an image of professionalism and competence to callers. Must be able to convey messages clearly to employees. Must maintain a Professional appearance. Must be able to work with the public and be able to convey message clearly to employees and customers. The ability to communicate customers' interest, needs and request to management and sales personnel.Required Skills/Abilities:Active Listing – Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.Communication- The ability to communicate information and ideas in writing and otherwise to convey information to others effectively. This also entails speaking clearly in a professional and competent manner to customers.Deductive Reasoning – The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.Problem Sensitivity – The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.Technology- Experience operating office machines for copying, scanning, faxing, and printing. This includes Microsoft Office and corporate phone systems.Appearance – Must be able to maintain a professional appearance in front of the public.Working Conditions:* This position requires an individual to be sitting at the showroom desk for the majority of their shift with occasional lifting up to 20 lbs.NOTE:This is not necessarily an exhaustive list of responsibilities, skills, duties, requirements, efforts, or working conditions associated with the job.
