Hybrid - Chicago IL, will require some local traveling Receiving Clerk Job Description:
As a Receiving Clerk, you will play a crucial role in managing the flow of goods in and out of our facilities. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:Scheduling Appointments:You'll schedule delivery and pick-up appointments according to customer requests.Coordinate delivery and pick-up appointments with external storage facilities such as Seafrigo and First Logistics.Dock Door Traffic Management:Direct dock door traffic to ensure smooth and efficient operations.Accurate Documentation:Audit, post, and file receipts using HighJump and SL systems to maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments.Perform inventory adjustments for samples and other items as needed.Shipping Coordination:Manage UPS shipping for sample orders, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.Effective Communication:Communicate effectively with internal teams, external vendors, and carriers to resolve any issues or delays in shipping and receiving processes.Additional Responsibilities:Assist with other duties and projects as assigned by management.Compare and reconcile physical inventory counts to those maintained in the inventory system.Make entries for store returns and print various related reports.Verify total case count assembled by the warehouse team to store invoices when applicable.Complete necessary system maintenance to ensure accurate inventory accountability.Recap audit results for weekly reporting.Work Experience Requirements for Receiving Clerk Role: Strong Organizational Skills and Attention to Detail:Demonstrated ability to manage tasks with precision and meticulousness.Effective Communication and Interpersonal Skills:Proficient in conveying information clearly and collaborating with colleagues and external partners.Previous Experience in Shipping, Receiving, or Warehouse Operations:Preferred background in logistics, warehouse management, or related fields.Proficiency with Shipping and Inventory Management Software:Highly desired expertise in systems like HighJump and SL for efficient tracking and record-keeping.Adaptability and Teamwork:Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a group setting.Microsoft Office Suite Proficiency:Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools or similar software.Education and Certifications:High school diploma or equivalent required.Additional education or certifications in logistics or supply chain management are advantageous.
