Apply now!In this role, the ideal candidate is a mechanical engineer with excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment. Candidates must have knowledge of core mechanical engineering concepts. Some experience working in the rail industry is a bonus. An FE registration is desirable but not required.This position will report to the Resource Director, Vehicle Mechanical Engineering - NortheastAs the successful candidate, you will:Witness and monitor rail vehicle qualification tests conducted to validated vehicle and/or equipment performance against procedures and industry standards.Review test procedures for specification compliance, technical content, and execution logistics. Prepare clear and concise daily / weekly/ monthly reports on test progress and key issues.Assist with the conduct forensic investigation of failed tests under the direction of senior staffParticipate in technical working sessions to address issues raised by clients.Prepare client ready technical briefs and presentations as directed by project leads.Develop technical specifications for mechanical/ electro-mechanical, or electrical equipment.Assist in the review design submittals, and the preparation of detailed review findings.Provide engineering support as required.RequirementsA bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electromechanical, or Electrical Engineering.A minimum of 5 years of engineering experience.Basic knowledge of rail vehicle system design requirements.Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skillsAbility to independently guide and work with others on technical issues.Demonstrate strong organizational skills, work well within a team, take direction from other senior staff members, the ability to multi-task while meeting deadlines.Valid driver license (travel to various domestic and international sites required)The following skills/experience are a plus:Ability to use Dewesoft data analysis software.Knowledge of instrumentation setup, function, and data collection.Knowledge of data logging equipment and setup.Microsoft Office software skills.Requirements for all sectors:To live our manifesto.
