Job Summary:The Radio Announcer at Talley Broadcasting Corporation will be responsible for providing engaging and informative on-air content for WSMI AM/FM in Litchfield, Illinois. Our on-air content includes: local and national news, agricultural news, weather, sports, and country music. This is a full-time, hourly, individual contributor role that requires excellent communication skills, creativity, and a passion for radio broadcasting. As the voice of our station, you will play a crucial role in our success by connecting with our audience and keeping them entertained and informed.Compensation & Benefits:This position includes a simple IRA with company match, paid sick days and after one year of employment, paid vacation days.Responsibilities:Host live on-air shows in accordance with our station's format and target audienceCreate engaging and relevant content for your shows, including ag programming, interviews, news, and advertisementsStay up-to-date with current events and trends in the local community and beyondOperate and maintain radio equipment and softwareFollow all laws and FCC rules pertaining to station operationFollow exisiting station format and program logInteract with listeners through on-air phone calls, social media, and other platformsParticipate in promotional events and remote broadcasts as neededCollaborate with other team members, such as management, office staff, sales staff and engineers, to ensure smooth and successful on-air operationsRequirements:High school dipolma or equivalentAssociate's degree in broadcasting, communications, or a related field preferredMinimum of 1 year of experience as a radio announcer or similar roleKnowledge of agriculture through life experience or education preferredKnowledge of radio equipment and software, such as computerized playout systems, control boards and editing programsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong organizational abilitiesAbility to think on your feet and handle unexpected situationsFlexibility to work a variety of hours, including weekends, holidays, and possibly early morning or late night shiftsTimely and dependable attendanceValid driver's license and reliable transportationEEOC Statement:Talley Broadcasting Corporation is an equal opportunity employer.
