Summary: Initiates the design, development, execution and implementation of technology research projects. Investigates the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions and products. Plans and executes applied research.
Conducts research and development activities for an organization or business unit Applies research theories, principles, and models when conducting experiments and research activities Summarizes research results and communicates findings to internal and external bodies Assesses the scope of research projects and ensures projects are on time and within budget Develops technical documentations for all projects Required Qualifications: Associate's Degree in general Engineering or specialized Engineering 0-3 years experience relevant to the positions functional area Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical or Chemical engineering Working understanding of basic engineering principles, theories, and concepts, with a working understanding of thermal and structural engineering concepts Ability to oversee other functional areas in the accomplishment of hardware, planning and test tasks Independently evaluate, select, and applie standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications for the solution to specific engineering problems Ability to translate general customer requirements into products, specific requirements and program elements Experienced with data processing using scripting languages such as MATLAB or Python Experience with commercially available computational fluid dynamics software such as STAR-CCM+, Fluent, or CFD++ to model a variety of engineering applications Experience with wind tunnel testing Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong computer skills, administrative data control, scheduling and team interface Must be able to possess strong, planning, execution and multitasking skills and have demonstrated ability to reprioritize on the fly Position requires a high degree of analytical aptitude with strong problem solving skills Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals while performing a variety of complex tasks Looks for ways to improve and promote quality Must be able to manage quickly changing priorities while meeting deadlines Works within the highest level of integrity, ethics and safety Decisions are guided by policy, procedures and business plan Other Requirements: Proficiency with MS Office 365 tools Assists with trade studies and parametric analyses Assists in development and qualification test program activities, including test planning and data acquisition Professional demeanor and presentation skills for frequent meetings, presentations, and site visits Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of time The above statements describe the general nature and level of work only. Note: The compensation information listed is a good faith estimate range for this position, it is estimated based on what a successful applicant might be paid: $57,155.00 - $106,145.00
Hired applicant may be eligible to participate in the Company's Gain Sharing Program.
