Quality Technician Location: Waterford, MI Shift: 1st shift, 10 hour days, half days on Saturdays as needed Pay: $24-$27/hour Essential Duties- Checking parts measurements with data analysis for part conformance. Program for complex machined components. Use measuring tools like calipers and micrometers. Daily part inspection dimensional layouts of manufactured parts. Ability to read and understand part drawings, tolerancing and GD&T. Interpret GD&T and program the software accordingly. Communicate documented inspection results to the Quality Manager and manufacturing personnel as necessary. Maintain gages and gage calibration as required. Support PPAP approvals for customers such as capability studies, gage repeatability and reproducibility studies, etc., when needed. (Will train if no experience.). Daily use of Excel spreadsheets and occasional formulas. Creation of inspection sheet and bubble drawing. Process and containment of parts with defects or out of tolerance parts. Perform receiving, in-process and final inspection of product to determine product compliance to specifications, including re-work and scrap activities. Assistance with corrective actions for non-conformances, as needed. Perform and maintain gage calibration system. Contribute to quality procedures and internal auditing. May perform part operation duties as needed. Other duties as assigned.  Qualifications- 2+ years' experience in technical quality inspection 2+ year' experience in GD&T and be able to interpret information. An understanding of metal machining Competency with quality related measuring devices (Calipers, height/depth gauges, micrometers, testing equipment, etc.) Ability to learn additional software. Ability to problem-solve reverse engineer, and generate moves as required. Decision making skills, organizational skills, detail oriented and self-motivated. Competent in the use of Microsoft Suite products: Excel, Word, and Outlook. Ability to read and apply information from part drawings. Must have a procedural mindset, the ability to prioritize, understanding of quality management principles, attention to detail, ability to analyze data and understand connections. Effective communicator with all levels of the organization. Ability to sit, stand, stoop, bend, twist and lift/move up to 50 pounds.
