About the Role

As a key member of AESC US LLC, you will play a crucial role in advancing our mission to lead in full-value-chain battery solutions for a sustainable future. You will work to improve the overall skill level of the Quality department in the Battery Plant where you will plan, direct, coordinate, and control quality activities in assigned work area to achieve established goals.
Your work within the Quality Team will directly impact our strategic goals and contribute to our position as a global leader in battery technology.

What You Will Do

Plan and execute the daily quality activities required to achieve customer requirements
Support plant departments to ensure the QMS is understood and being followed
Assist in the layout, development, and implementation of the Quality Labs throughout the plant
Assist in the development of the plant calibration systems and manage the completed system
Schedule team members to ensure quality objectives are met daily
Monitor product data (Product Audits) to anticipate problems and delays throughout the process and make corrections through problem-solving and troubleshooting
Conduct process audits to ensure the SOSs are being followed
Promotes 5-S activities throughout the plant, with focus on areas of responsibility
Control labor and materials usage to meet or improve standard costs
Manage temporary movement of personnel to meet quality requirements
Achieve Safety, Quality, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for quality areas of responsibility
Able to lead 8D completion and other problem-solving activities
Interact and coordinate with maintenance and engineering to identify countermeasure issues with equipment, processes, or materials
Prepare One Point Lesson's (OPL) and Standard Operating Sheets (SOS)
Investigate material variances and report the result of the investigation
Prepare all required reports and support quality investigations when needed
Understand principles of continuous improvement and carry them out in the quality area
Meet all ethical, regulatory, etc., standards for position
Supervise day-to-day activities for quality technologists including but not limited to scheduled work time, time and attendance, scheduling and approval of overtime, corrective actions, evaluations of skill sets, and training plan development of production technicians
Communicate daily with subordinate employees
Coach/counsel/discipline

employees as necessary
Assist with tracking and maintaining employee records related to training, attendance, performance, overtime, safety, and mobile equipment licensing
Ensure ongoing safe plant operations and safe employee behavior
Familiarize personnel with AESC policies and procedures and provide policy updates as needed.
Has a working understanding of the plant rules and corporate policies regarding employee behavior and responds appropriately to matters governed by these policies
Instruct and train employees and motivate them to be safety-conscious, quality-oriented, and efficient and to strive for a continuous improvement mindset
Orient new employees to department, area, shift, etc.
Ensure team members are properly trained and follow standard operating sheets (SOS).
Schedules technicians for technical and powered equipment training
Provides IATF 16949, ISO9001 international manufacturing quality standards, ISO140001 environmental standards training and VDA quality standards

What You Need

High School Diploma or GED
At least two years of related experience at the professional level
Understands and follows all standards of IATF16949 and VDA 6.3 quality standards
Understands and follows all standards of ISO14001 environmental standards

What is "Nice to Have"?
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or other relevant field
Background in supporting a highly technical automotive-related manufacturing environment is highly desired
Two or more years in a work leader role coordinating the work of other employees and contractors. This includes training new employees, assigning work, and checking the timeliness and quality of work. May have provided input into performance reviews. Most of the time in a work leader role would have been spent performing work similar to that performed by the people whose activities the position coordinates
Knowledge of battery manufacturing, EV manufacturing, or refinery operations
Proficiency in additional languages beyond English is advantageous
Cross-cultural experience
Manufacturing environment experience
Start-up experience

Work Environment

The work environment is primarily an automated manufacturing plant with a concrete floor and is characterized by some temperature extremes, moderate noise, and forklift traffic.
