Quality Specialist Location Carol Stream, IL : Supports and complies with the overall documentation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the Logistics Organization's Quality Environmental Management System (QEMS). Responsible for supporting the 3rd Party Auditors (and 2nd Party Auditors as directed by the Quality Manager). Ensures the QEMS is compliant with all applicable requirements of ISO 9001 and other identified standards (e.g. ISO 14001, ISO 27001) as required by the Logistics Organization. Drives Corrective and Preventative Action process, and Customer Satisfaction process for the Kent location Ensures customer-facing issues are logged and appropriate root cause analysis is driven to achieve continual improvements. Expected results: Ongoing maintenance of compliance to the current version of ISO 9001 & 14001 and other applicable certifications. Positive Carol Stream KPIs trending per targets Support the tasks to ensure an active Internal Auditor is meeting the external audit schedule. Support the reporting of the timely monthly executive reports capturing the Carol Stream previous end-of-month ,YTD, and Rolling 12 results Support the preparation for the quarterly Management Review meeting Ensure the support of the administration of Carol Stream process or business improvement efforts, which may include dealing with internal customers and suppliers on quality or performance issues. Oversees inspection/monitoring of incoming materials, ensuring they meet requirements and responds accordingly when they do not. Drive product service requirements compliance with customers, employees, contractors, outsourcing firms and mitigate impact to the environment. Reports to the Quality & Environmental Manager on the performance of the QEMS (e.g., results of quality audits, corrective actions), including the need for improvement. Supports the execution of Kent's continual improvement activities Support and promotes quality and environmental improvement efforts in line with the Quality and Environmental Policies 100% compliant at all times with applicable requirements of ISO 9001 & 14001 and other identified standardsDrives all Quality Management System requirements of the customer, internal ZONES processes, ISO 9001, and regulatory/legal. Supports the process that controls procedures, records, and other QMS related documented information. Supports the evaluation of, and reporting of, supplier quality systems (whether external or internal to ZONES). Supports and drives the monitoring, measuring, and reviewing of Kent's internal processes, especially those affecting the Logistics Organization's products and services. Drive the improvement plan to address the Customer Satisfaction results. Participates in the quarterly Management Review meetings. Helps drive the root cause analysis on returns and analysis as required. Maintains continuous education on standards, regulations/laws, issues, and news with respect to product (service) quality. Supports the continuous improvement throughout Carol Stream. Facilitating change throughout the Carol Stream location. Supporting the established strategic plans, policies and procedures Inspects, audits and reports on processes to ensure conformance of an organization quality standards Maintains recordkeeping aligned with the Zones Logistics QMS ISO requirements. Communicates effectively, orally and in writing with all levels of personnel. Maintain and support the process to collect, to maintain and analyze data. 90% attainment of the Internal Audit Schedule during a given calendar year 90% timeliness in closing Audit Findings and Corrective Actions 100% compliant to reporting the Monthly KPI scorecard data as defined 100% compliant to reporting critical customer facing issues promptly and support timely resolution EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience CERTIFICATES/LICENSES, ETC.: Quality training and /or Six Sigma certification a plus REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: One to 3 years experience; need excellent writing, communication skills and excel, and experience in internal auditing and performing root cause analysis required to drive continual improvements. Prior experience with Quality audits in a manufacturing/logistics type environment Understand business principles involved in operational planning, data analysis and timely reporting. Understand customer needs, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Understand production processes, quality management, and control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective distribution of goods. Develop, plan and implement short and long term goals. Strong organizational skills. Strong communication skills (both verbal and written). Proficiency with excel, database applications and administration systems, specifically Microsoft Office Ability to work effectively alone and prioritize. Must be a highly motivated, service and team-oriented individual with an attention to detail.
