Specification Engineer or Quality / Metallurgical Engineer Huntington, WV
Summary The Specification Engineer is responsible for the technical review of specifications and customer orders. Additionally, this role supports other Specification Review personnel regarding technical content of their work in process.
The Spec Engineer satisfies all customer requests promptly and professionally, ensuring customers' needs and expectations are met. They review, catalog, and provide comments to industry and customer specifications. Responsible for review of both the customers PO's and the Sales orders to ensure accuracy as well as the mills capability to perform customer requests.
Acts as a key liaison between the internal organization including Sales, Supply Chain Management, Product Management, and Applications Support.
Owns assigned specifications and customer orders from start to finish.
Essential Functions Processing specifications that are complex in both product and verification.
Technical review of specifications and customer orders.
Proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates customer requirements.
Order process measured on order accuracy and timely processing.
Acts as a liaison with other intercompany departments.
Handles account inquiries, customer complaints and support issues.
Expedite orders when required.
Department reporting daily and month end reporting.
Quality Notifications and certification corrections.
Additional Responsibilities Investigation and Root Cause Corrective Action for process errors.
Qualifications Engineering, Materials, or Metallurgy degree preferred or 4+ years of applicable job training in a technical field.
Experience with Oracle or other systems, a plus.
Experience with PC based communications and analysis tools including Internet, Email, MS office.
