Job Summary This position is responsible for providing quality engineering support to operations and product development engineering to investigate, plan, and implementing product quality improvements of current products and manufacturing processes. The Quality Engineer will spend a significant amount of time working on the factory floor and interfacing with supervisory and assembly personnel.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities Include, but not limited to:
Lead significant projects critical to improve manufacturing process capability & quality performance Explore new opportunities for improvement through research of new testing equipment, methods, and industry standards Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place Establishes enhanced quality procedures Identify and resolve product and program quality issues, including as necessary the final disposition of product and quality records, and review of product certification and customer-required documentation Communicate with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards Perform audits to monitor supplier performance and support efforts to develop and implement changes to improve the production process Provide trending analysis on quality issues and performance metrics in manufacturing Experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading, and interpreting blueprints, drawing, or specifications Perform other duties as assigned Requirements Electrotechnical expertise and troubleshooting skills relating to manufacturing machines: Software: PLC programming (ladder/structured text), HMI programming, software debug/troubleshooting skills for both Rockwell and Siemens platforms Hardware: experience with Rockwell and/or Siemens PLC, HMI, and control components. Ability to apply hardware to machine designs. Knowledge of UL508A, NFPA 79, and CE a plus Experience managing projects. Experience selling or developing R&M solutions a plus. 3 years of minimum experience in software development and/or internal or external customer technical support solving programming issues. Displays exceptional customer service, problem-solving, attention to detail, and workload prioritization and organization. Ability to pivot quickly and work well under pressure. Skilled in problem-solving techniques. Qualifications: BS in Manufacturing, Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering 5 -10 Years work experience Demonstrated technical proficiency in complex manufacturing activities Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written), work and relate with people at all levels of the organization and be self-sufficient. Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously Critical thinker, excellent problem-solving skills, and continuous improvement mindset. 10% Travel requirements
