The City of Mt. Washington is seeking a dedicated and skilled Stormwater Quality Manager to join our team. This technical position plays a crucial role in supporting the city's compliance with the MS4 stormwater permit and enforcing stormwater ordinances. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and contribute to the city's development review process.
Starting Wage: $22.00 per hour, additional pay increases are possible dependent on qualifications and experience.
Job Summary: The MS4 Coordinator performs essential field and office work to implement and ensure compliance with the City's Stormwater Management Plan and related state and federal water quality regulations. This role is pivotal in managing code enforcement caseloads, conducting investigations, and serving as the primary field staff for the city's stormwater program.
Key Responsibilities: Review engineering construction plans, including erosion control and stormwater management plans. Inspect construction sites for compliance with city land disturbance permit requirements and water quality regulations. Inspect public infrastructure and improvements installed by private developers. Manage compliance with the City of Mt. Washington Phase II Stormwater MS4 general permit. Issue warnings and notices of violations for stormwater code infractions. Represent the city during stormwater board hearings. Provide public education and outreach to minimize code violations. Engage with the public, staff, and regulatory agencies to promote clean water initiatives. Knowledge of state and federal water quality regulations and compliance measures. Qualifications: · Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and Adobe. Willingness to learn other computer programs that would be used for this job position.
· Possession and maintenance of a valid Kentucky driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
· Possess and maintain a Kentucky Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control Program course or must obtain within 6 months of employment .
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Candidates must be willing to submit to D.O.T physical, background checks, and credit checks
The ideal candidate will have an associate degree in environmental science, construction management, or a related field. Experience in the construction, Utility and or land development field can be substituted for education.
