is seeking a
Quality Inspector
in our
Indianapolis ,
Indiana warehouse.
The
Quality Inspector
is responsible for checking the quality of all incoming and outgoing products and materials as well as production procedures to ensure product shipments are properly documented, labeled, and processed according to customer specifications. Quality Inspector works closely with operations personnel to implement consistent procedures across warehouse functions. Additionally, this role is responsible for picking, processing, and preparing customer shipments according to their specifications, MCC Quality Standards, and applicable regulations.
Essential Functions:
Practices the principles of food safety, quality, and continuous improvement under the GFSI guidelines.
Ensures the smooth operation of the Mays Chemical Company facilities by performing required work in a timely manner while paying close attention to customer requirements, safety and health issues, and applicable standards.
Ensure that all labels are correct on each container of product, lot number, identification marks, and conform to specific customer requirements.
Ensure that material packaging is suitable for shipment according to customer specifications, MCC Quality Standards, and applicable regulations if necessary.
Produce product shipping unit labels as required by customer requirements and applicable regulations.
Email COA's to customers per customer instructions on Pick Ticket. In the event Customers email is outdated Quality Inspector will assist Customer Service with obtaining most current
email/comments/requirements.
Remove products that don't meet production standards and recommend strategies to improve product quality. Monitor customer comments to ensure the latest Customer comments and label specs are up to date.
Perform quarterly Competency Assessments of Warehouse Personnel, to ensure current Work Instructions and S.O. Ps are understood.
Review packing slips to ensure that proper information is recorded and complies with customer requirements.
Perform any other duties as defined by management.
Education/Requirements:
High school diploma or High School Equivalency (HSE).
Four (4) plus years' experience working in chemical distribution warehouse operations or an equivalent combination of training and experience required.
Knowledge of inventory control methods and procedures, and the ability to apply such knowledge to practical situations.
Computer skills required: Chempax, Warehouse Management Systems and Microsoft Office.
