Quality Assurance Technician Location: Sikeston, Missouri PM Shift Hours: 6:00 pm - 6:30 am Shift Pattern: 2/2/3 Pay Rate – $ 21.94 with an additional $0.75 for PM shift | Bi-Weekly Pay Periods Benefit Overview These are direct hires, full time position with a full benefits package (*Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Profit sharing, Tuition/Fitness reimbursement, Paid leaves, Quarterly Bonus payouts, etc.)

Background & Purpose of the Job Principal Accountabilities:
Gather samples and perform any required analyses.
Interpret and record results accurately and in a timely manner.
Audit various processes within the plant for compliance to standards.
Prepare and maintain necessary reagents and solutions to complete analyses.
Conduct SPC capability studies and calculate targets/limits for control charts.
Maintain and file necessary records.
PC data entry and reporting utilizing the following programs:
dBase IV
Microsoft Excel
Microsoft PowerPoint
Microsoft Word
Microsoft Outlook
Provide data to other departments as needed.
Maintain work area in acceptable condition at all times.
Maintain attention to quality issues on all lines.
Work cooperatively with other technicians to evenly share the workload.
Other duties as assigned.

Limits of authority:
May release daily production and ingredients following policy guidelines.
No direct authority to shut down lines or stop production but may place product on hold for QA Manager's review.

Working Environment: Variable, consisting of the office environment, the laboratory, and the manufacturing floor. Potential hazards include proximity of moving machinery, chemical exposure, or heavy lifting. The position may require an individual to stand, stoop, move equipment; bend, reach, or lift for prolonged periods of time. PPE includes safety glasses, hearing protection and sanitary footwear.

What You'll Need to Succeed: Knowledge and skill requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent GED.
Ability to read and follow written procedures.
Basic understanding of GMP's.
Comprehension of basic mathematical concepts including algebra.
Ability to learn required tests and procedures within a reasonable period of time, including PC applications.
The ability to communicate with others, and the desire and willingness to work closely within a small group of individuals.
Ability to pass the production skills test.

Preferred qualifications:
Two or four-year degree in Food Science or another related field.
Previous experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance.
Computer literate.
