Quality Assurance Coding Specialist

What You'll Do:
Conduct quality assurance reviews and audits of internal coding staff, providing constructive feedback for improvement.
Champion consistency and accuracy in coding and documentation practices, conducting thorough chart reviews to ensure precise diagnosis and procedure code assignments.
Deliver quality review (QA) education and feedback to new staff members during onboarding and orientation processes.
Cultivate a culture of professional growth and development, actively supporting and mentoring team members.
Stay abreast of regulatory and provider guidelines, continuously updating your knowledge base through self-study.
Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Current AHIMA or AAPC coding certification(s)
Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in coding/auditing CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCs, adhering to CMS Coding guidelines
At least 3 years of experience in E/M coding
Proficient understanding of physiology, medical terminology, and disease processes
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, facilitating collaboration across departments
Strong team player with meticulous attention to detail, capable of adapting to evolving circumstances
Access to high-speed internet and a suitable workstation (specific Elevate IT requirements available upon request)
