The Culinary Purchaser/Receiver is a vital role in the purchasing and receiving department., ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of inventory management and control. They must communicate with the Chef and ops teams daily on product usage and pars. The primary responsibilities are to receive, inspect, and verify all incoming shipments, maintaining accurate records and ensuring the organization and sanitation of receiving areas and storage rooms.

Accurately check in, puts away, and sign for all accounted product. Separate orders by kitchen areas; moving, handling, and transporting product to each department carefully and accurately. Have a thorough understanding of the necessary systems and programs needed to perform key job responsibilities ie. Birchstreet. Work and regularly communicate directly with ops teams to ensure purchasing, receiving, and storing methods are accurate. Match received items with corresponding invoices and codes for accounting purposes. Communicate any discrepancies, shortages, and price fluctuations to Supervisor. Maintain cleanliness and organization of receiving areas and storage rooms. Keep track and help manage inventory levels, minimizing dead stock items and ensuring profitability through efficient inventory control. Inspect and verify the quality and condition of all product and returns product if conditions are not met. Accurately complete all necessary paperwork and updates inventory and order lists when needed. Assist ops teams with sourcing product, placing orders, and setting up and updating catalogs within Birchstreet. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. Understands and prepares for the physical demands of moving around product the majority of the shift and follows proper lifting guidelines to ensure safe moving and placement of product. Qualifications - External
Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational skill and time management. Possess strong leadership, communication, organization and relationship skills. Proficient in general computer skills. Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management. High school diploma or equivalent. Physical ability to lift and move heavy items and stand for extended periods. Previous experience in a receiving or inventory management role preferred.
