Responsibilities
• Serves as primary purchaser for department• Reviews and completes purchase requisitions• Interacts with vendors and department constituents• Assists with equipment inventory• Prepares and assesses budgets and accounting documents• Analyzes and monitors budgets and expenditures• Reconciles balance sheets and accounts• Interacts with auditors and participates in auditing projects• May train lower level accounting staff
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field• One year related experience or equivalency• Thorough understanding of general ledger accounting practices• Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills• Knowledge of PeopleSoft or Access databases may be preferred• Superior organizational and problem-solving skills preferred• Strong working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets preferred• One to two years' experience in procurement or related area preferred• Previous experience in a research or university setting preferred
