Scheduled Hours 40 Position Summary The Washington University Participant Engagement and Cancer Genome Sequencing (WU-PE-CGS) program â" a large recently NCI funded study exploring engagement of underserved populations with rare cancer â" is accepting applications for a qualitative research coordinator position. We are seeking candidates to provide research and administrative support to the project team of the Engagement Optimization Unit (EOU) in several qualitative research projects. The EOU is focused on engaging participants and exploring the ethical and social implications of cancer genomic sequencing.


Under the direct supervision of a qualitative researcher, the selected candidate will assist with any projects that involve qualitative research within the EOU. Tasks will include screening, qualitative interviewing, and qualitative coding data from a subset of participants from the larger NCI-funded study under the supervision of qualitative researchers on the study team.


The position will work closely with the project manager for the WU-PE-CGS on IRB amendments for the EOU projects as well as the Clinical Research Coordinator on the recruitment of participants and data collection.

Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities Conducting interviews. Conducting data collection visits both remotely and on-site. Coordinating and conducting follow-up data collection. Managing and monitoring the quality of qualitative data. Conducting literature reviews. Communicating regularly with participants and the study team. Monitoring project timelines, report deadlines, and progress towards project goals. Assisting in IRB reporting, amendments, and applications. Assisting with reports to project sponsors. Attending project meetings. Performs other duties incidental to the work described herein. Preferred Qualifications Two years of experience in public health, epidemiological, behavioral medicine, psychological, sociological, clinical or genetic counseling research. Experience using qualitative data analysis software (Dedoose, Atlas.ti, nVivo, etc.) and conducting qualitative research is highly preferred. Required Qualifications Bachelorâ™s degree plus a minimum of two years of clinical or public health research or practicum experience; a combination of relevant work and education equaling six years may substitute for this requirement.
Grade C10 Salary Range $51,600.00 - $77,400.00 / Annually
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
