Duties
Examples of DutiesPlans and participates in the work of ordering, purchasing, receiving, storing, and distributing a large and varied stock of equipment and materials for the Sheriff's Office.Manages purchase and issuance of uniforms and equipment for Command Staff, Deputies, Volunteers, Cadets, Special Star Force and Civilians.Responsible for uniform measurement and fitting to include measurement of ballistic vests (as needed) for all new personnel, volunteers and Cadets.Orders and maintains accountability for all department weapon purchases to include duty weapons, SWAT weapons, and tasers utilizing the Quartermaster bar code system.Prepares and submits Request for Purchase obtaining quotes as needed.Monitors and maintains inventory levels in supply area; maintains inventory control records; issues supplies as needed; assists with inventory audits.Provides assistance to Divisions with requests for new equipment – gathers pricing, quotes, test samples and works as a liaison with Vendors.Inspects all new incoming inventory and receipts for quality and quantity, accuracy of counts, and correct pricing; contacts Vendors regarding purchases.Identifies damaged, lost or missing merchandise or inventory and records any discrepancies.Accurately sorts and places material on shelves, racks, or other designated storage areas.Inputs all inventory and serialized, non?serialized Equipment and Uniforms into Quartermaster OnQSystem.Provides troubleshooting assistance for a large variety of Sheriff's Office equipment (L3 Camera System back up printer, breath analyzer machine, copiers, printers, faxes, cable boxes) and places work orders as needed.Maintains BAC Locker system with tangible items.Prepares semiannual accreditation Weapons report.Maintain inventory of gym equipment and issues gym supplies.Serves as back up support to Evidence Room section and personnel.Maintains a safe and clean work environment and adheres to all safety procedures within the course of performing job duties. Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of warehouse and inventory control procedures to include knowledge of inventory management softwareKnowledge of Procurement Purchasing RulesKnowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of work and related equipment operationAbility to prepare and maintain accurate records and reports; Ability to work independently with time management skills;Ability to express ideas clearly, both orally and in writing;Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, supervisors, outside vendors and contractorsAbility to use logic and reasoning to understand, analyze, and evaluate situations and exercise good judgment to make appropriate decisions.Education and ExperienceGraduation from high school with two or more years of experience working with inventory supply in a warehouse or any combination of education, training, and/or experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.Do you have the Education Required?
