Project Manager - Asphalt Paving - DOT - Utah _____________________________________________________________________________________________
Job Summary : Provide overall management direction for existing DOT Transportation (Asphalt Paving and Structures) projects and develop new business opportunities relative to a particular client, group of clients, geographical area or type of project.

General Duties and Responsibilities :
Visualize, fulfill, and implement the vision and core values. Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals and other documents to prepare time, material, equipment, production and labor costs for asphalt and grading contracts. Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy. Review Hot Plant reports, crusher reports and job reports. Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendent to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures. Consult with clients, vendors, sub-contractors and others to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues. Manage financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to protect company's interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with Client. Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental requirements. _______
Technical Skills Understand HMA, SMA, OGSC Asphalt mix designs. Work with QC/QA to make changes to crushing operation and Hot plant operations to maximize productivity. Maximize crushing operations with proper equipment use. Thorough understanding of materials specifications. State Spec / Federal Specs. Preferable worked in portable crushing and / or hot plant environment. Work with Area Manager to develop estimates and complete pit exploration. Education and/or Experience :
5+ years of progressive experience of Asphalt Paving in a Project Management or Quality Control Management role. Federal Contract and DOT Specification experience preferred. 5-7 years in a similar position preferred. Civil Engineering/Construction Management Degree or equivalent work experience a plus. ________________________________________________________________________________________________

Willingness and ability to travel to remote job sites throughout the western region (Utah, Idaho, Nevada).
