Hybrid/Local Project Manager (PMP must) with Agile/Waterfall/Scrum/Lean, MS Project/Asana/JIRA experience
Location: Tallahassee, FL (DCF)
Duration: 12 months
This position requires on-site presence in our office.
2.2 Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
Minimum Required KSAs:
7+ years of experience in Project Management Principles, Understanding of methodologies like
Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and Lean. Familiarity with project life cycle, from planning and
execution to monitoring, controlling, and closure.
7+ years of experience in Knowledge of how to identify, assess, and mitigate risks that could
impact project success.
7+ years of experience in familiarity with quality standards and processes to ensure project
deliverables meet expected quality benchmarks.
5+ years of experience in project management software tools like MS Project, Asana, or JIRA.
3+ years of experience in budgeting, financial forecasting, and cost management.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
Ability to analyze situations, data, and feedback to make informed decisions.
capability to adjust to changing project scopes, deadlines, and requirements smoothly.
Ability to mediate disputes within the team or with external parties to maintain a positive
working environment.
2.3 Education and Certifications
Education: Bachelor s or Master s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other
related field. Or equivalent work experience. (Required)
Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP).
Location: Remote Hybrid; Position can be remote, but requires candidate to be onsite for meetings
and presentations on select days throughout the month/year at DCF Headquarters in Tallahassee;
Negotiable.
2.1 Primary Job Duties and Tasks:
The activities this candidate will be tasked with include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Project Planning and Scheduling: Create detailed project plans that outline the scope, resources required,
timelines, and milestones. Use project management software to keep track of progress and adjust schedules as
needed.
2. Resource Management: Allocate team members and technology resources to different tasks and projects based on
their skills, experience, and project requirements. Ensure optimal use of resources to meet project goals within
budget.
3. Budget Management: Develop and manage the project budget, including estimating costs for software, hardware,
and human resources. Monitor spending to ensure the project remains within budget and make adjustments as
necessary.
4. Stakeholder Communication: Regularly update stakeholders, including team members, leadership, and external
partners, on project progress, challenges, and changes. Use clear and concise communication to manage expectations
and keep everyone informed.
5. Risk Management: Identify potential risks to the project timeline, budget, or quality. Develop and implement
mitigation strategies to minimize impact and prepare contingency plans for critical risks.
6. Quality Assurance: Oversee the quality of deliverables, ensuring they meet project specifications and standards.
Implement quality assurance practices, such as code reviews, testing protocols, and performance evaluations, to
maintain high-quality outputs.
7. Change Management: Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and resources efficiently, ensuring minimal
disruption. Assess the impact of changes, update project plans accordingly, and communicate changes to all
stakeholders.
8. Vendor Management: Negotiate with vendors and suppliers for software, hardware, and services. Manage vendor
relationships to ensure timely delivery of products and services within agreed budgets and specifications.
9. Team Leadership and Development: Lead the project team, providing guidance, motivation, and support. Foster a
collaborative environment, resolve conflicts, and facilitate professional development opportunities for team
members.
10. Project Closure and Evaluation: Upon project completion, conduct a project closure meeting to gather feedback,
document lessons learned, and release project resources. Evaluate project success against initial goals and objectives
and prepare a final report for stakeholders.
