Job Description: We are currently seeking a proven professional to work on various projects within our Transportation Market. The Senior Project Engineer/Traffic Engineer will have demonstrated leadership and technical experience in the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) and municipal projects.
Our Project Engineer/Traffic Engineer will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of project types and for a variety of clients. Projects will include safety planning and design, roundabouts, corridor studies, and plans, design of traffic signals and advanced ITS systems, and many others.
This position offers hands-on training in the hot field of intelligent transportation systems and smart city infrastucture.
Tasks and Responsibilities Provide traffic engineering design for a variety of LPA, DOT, and private clients. Produce and review traffic impact studies, safety studies, and traffic forecasting. Establishes guidelines for cost estimates. Reviews and approves estimates prepared by others. May function as Project Manager - demonstrating strong team, communication, and organization abilities. Frequently functions as a subject matter expert. Assure project understanding, approach, and technology fully address client, regulatory, and best practices technical issues. Independently develop projects. May be assigned as subject matter expert. Requirements MUST HAVE Bachelor's degree in civil engineering. 7+ years' experience as a Project Engineer/Traffic Engineer. Ohio PE License. Experience in MicroStation/Geopak/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D. Experience in design-related software such as SignCad and AutoTurn. Experience in HCS, Synchro/Simtraffic, VISSIM, TransModeler, SIDRA, Rodel. Applicant must have a valid driver's license, good driving record, and proof of insurance. Must have strong communication skills and be team-orientated. NICE TO HAVE P.T.O.E. preferred. Road Safety Professional is a plus. Travel demand modeling is a plus. Basic or advanced GIS capabilities desired. Knowledge of MUTCD policies and procedures. Benefits Competitive base compensation
